999 Ohlins setup

Following on from my last thread...

Anyone got any settings for full ohlins on a 999? preferably biased towards the track

Would it be worth using the settings off the Bostrom on the 999? I am assuming that Ducati kept the same geometry on the 999 as the 998... why change a winning formula?

Or would this be a BIG no no....

I await Dibble to say "just ring JHP"

My understanding is that the weight Bias is different between the newer bikes (999) and the older bikes (998), as such you may find the suspension has different spring rates and would therefore have damping to suit.

I know what JHP would say, " have the forks re-shimed with 25mm shims"
A snip at 200 plus notes. Me I would go to Ktec

Jon

i guess your probably at work at the moment, and time is tight but it would be well worth running over to KAIS, which as you say is only 30 mins from you and getting it set up to suit.

Even if you can't do it today, how about explaining the prob to Andy and even booking it in for crack of dawn tomorrow, i know this means missing the early part of the track day tomorrow BUT it may be better to do half a day with confidence, rather than a full day with doubts in your mind in view of last Sundays slip off (which i really believe is down to a combination of stone cold tyres and the masses of salt dumped on our roads of late).

KAIS are on 01942 896366 and speak to Andy (tell him Ron Williams sent you!) I did and he nearly had a fit

Shaun,

I know Andy of old, he sorted the suspension on my 996 several years ago, might be worth me calling to see if he has any good base settings, I doubt I'm going to have time as both of our bikes will be in the van, and it's not fair to deprive Lily of her track day at the end of the day
