pro,s cons 50mm or 54mm

Hi all. got 50mm termis fitted. On the odd occasion Ive seen 54mm Termis on Ebay.
Any gains to be had by fitting them, or would you guys leave, as is. Thanks again. Ian.

Almost any engine will gain power by allowing it to breath more easily, however there comes a point where it's too much.

I would say that simply fitting a bigger exhaust will increase your power a little, but to see real differences, you need to give the engine some work, not least porting the heads.

More or less definately, but ask someone who knows what they are talking about first! I'm no expert.

I think that you will gain more froma 54mm system because of your engine mods, I'd check with JHP - that's where you had the mods right?

Also, you might run into clearance issues (swingarm) with a 54mm system (mag swingarm!!!! required). You will also need different fueling etc, remapped PC or new chip?

Check with Mr Hackett I reckon.

Tim
