New calipers

As usual my bike has took all my money ,fitted a new set of racing calipers used the original pads which were fitted to the calipers(the calipers were brand new)all they did was, literally polish the discs!I`ve put my previous pads back in for now and the brakes are great(be even better when I fit radial pump lever).Anyone know which pads are best?According to the DP cataloge the pads which came with the calipers are "racing, softer pad".But are useless on cast iron discs. Is it possible these pads could have gone off or designed for stainless discs?

Very nice callipers. I prefer to use Ferodo CP911* pads.
