Turns out that when I'd put the tank and seat back on I had got the fuel pump connector block on top of one of the fuel lines.

It pinched the fuel line, but, on the side stand it allowed enough fuel through to start and run. Sit on the bike and it just pinched the fuel line another couple of mm and starved the engine of fuel.

There was just enough fuel in the line to stand the bike up, blip the throttle and flick the stand up

Made me think I'd done something to the neutral switch or alarm or similar.

Pig to spot, but, 5 mins to put right and no money needed
