Fuel Level Indicator

My fuel light does not come on when the fuel is low, I have investigated it and found the wiring is all ok andthe indicator lamp is ok, however there is only 3.5 volts coming from the level switch in the tank. Haynes recommend it is changed, so does anyone know where i can get one without paying the extorsionate Ducati prices.
Second hand or from a breaker is my prefered option.

must admit that my fuel indicator light works until I run a bit low, then seems to stay on all the time
Black tape on the light cured the problem, just remembering to fill up every 140 -150 miles and never had any probs.........
Nelly will prob be able to help when he and half the DSC get back from Bologna
