Aintree - A great but very wet day out! (+888)

Yep - as the title says really.

First time I've ever been to Aintree before for the races there. Must admit I thought it was all classic racing but there were all classes represented. The atmosphere in the pit area was great, a true friendly "grass-roots" feeling with no restrictions anywhere.

Sadly, its a bit hard to get to the distant parts of the track but the view is not too bad since some raised banking has been built.

Great day out all considered - apart from the weather !!!

I used to go to Aintree lots when i lived up that way for single venue car rallys. Didn't know they did bikes there as well. Can't imagine its a challenging track for bikes but it must be quite quick. We built chicanes to make it a bit twistier. Most people don't realise that there used to be F1 car races held at Aintree although i think the current circuit is just the old club circuit as they used to call it.
