Hi Dave SP - 1995 - 1997: Differs from the BP... Yellow only SP cams, SP conrods (steel but H section so much much stronger than standard) Single seat only, and should have the Alloy subframe uses the same 1.6m as the 916 bp (NOT the 'big brain' P8) Ohlins rear shock FULLY floating (rattles) cast iron brake discs on front, single pin, 2 pad per caliper brembo calipers. (40mm mounting) Comes with 50 termignoni AND link pipe without baffles (converts from 45 to 50mm) and chip. (many of these have been robbed over the years and now come with 45 mm termis). comes with paddock stand and yellow dust cover. SPS - 1998 - 1999 SPS differs from the SP... Has Titanium con rods (not race H section but Ti anyway) Has twin pin brembo calipers (65mm mounting) still 2 pad per caliper 98 Graphics (no ducati logo on the tank) Ohlins damper later style rectifier / regulator. There were a few (handfull) of red ones from the factory, sps only, but beware, plenty of yellow ones have been painted. Still a fab bike, look for service history its everything on one of these. Check when valve clearences were last done , the SP cams are far harder on the rockers than the bp ones too. also check the discs, cast iron ones crack and if there 8 years old they may need replacement and they're not cheap! good luck - i love 748 SP 's get a good one and they are fab!!!! |
