All Ducati dry clutches the same?

Answer - not quite!
Went out to fit my new stainless springs, screws and alloy caps to the Hyper.I fitted the first spring/cap,only to find the spring was coilbound when the screw was fully home.
I checked the cap and spring with the origional items and found the springs and caps were differant.
I double checked against my '05 999S and the wifes '02 M900ie,.....the size and length were identical.
So it looks like any new model from '07 onwards uses differant springs and caps.A quick look at the parts book confirms the differant numbers.
The Hyper and Monster 1100 spring cap is about 4mm deeper.
The 1098 uses a differant number again,....so it will be differant to the Hyper and the older bikes. My guess is the 'throw' of the latest generation master cylinders is differant.
Just summat to think about if you are thinking of tarting up the dry clutch on your 2007< bike.
Looks like the missus monster is going to get some nice new stainless clutch springs and blue caps.

Hmm ... I've just ordered a plate and caps for the '08 HM so it looks like I might be screwed if they're not right?

Looks like I'll be getting the micrometer out to get it all setup right!

I guess they will be ok with the right sized spacers behind them.Summat like a couple of washers behind each cap would do the job.

I'm gonna get some more coloured caps sometime, but for the time being, the std ones will do.

Exactly what I was thinking... but I'm still waiting for the bloomin' things to turn up from Italy!

My standard ones corroded with the salt and so I spray painted them. It is an improvement until you can get some anodised ones.

You might want to check them now and again. The clutch gets pretty hot and I dare say the paint you used was Halfords finest? It could cause the bolts to be stuck rigid to the caps and spring, seeing that the bolts are made of cheese, could cause you a lot of grief.

Very good point Jon, all my standard ones were replaced along time ago after I had suffered a couple doing their Cheddar impression
