The thing is Jools, when something is written about the 996-998, the 999 owners are just as quick to slate it even more.
The 999 will never be as popular as the 916-996-998. Cant see a problem when someone like me only thinks that the 916 ect is the best that Ducati have made, is it wrong to idolise one such bike?

1996 MV Brutale

I have been giving PB the benefit of the doubt as I admire Tim Thompson as an editor however I really think they've lost the plot now ....

Actually...I quite like the Brutale....
I have heard they don't perform too well but as a street fighter I think they are beautiful. The other one is the Cagiva Raptor.
Perhaps there's no accounting for taste

You, mate, are off your bleedin' trolley.... The SSie is the bike that reminds us how bad the 999 could really have been.

.. totally agree Lisa, it's just that it wasn't designed in 1996, the F4 was, the Brutale came along in 2000 as a design concept. Sorry, need to get out more

Maybe. But I will never buy a 749/99 cos they are so fugly in my eyes. You missed the crucial point for me - simplicity. the 749/99 is just a mess - bitty, complicated and untidy.

At last someone has seen the light and can see there is beautyin the 999. I dont see why the 916 is not there though as it should be without question
