WORD OF WARNING
What ever you do DO NOT shotblast a tank or a modern Ducati frame!
The guy who does my blasting and any powder coating that I want done, uses "cold iron" on the frames and other cycle parts, being carefull to keep the pressure down and not to work to closely to the part.
We do petrol tanks normally with aluminium oxide, then fished off with glass bead. This uses a lot less pressure, removing the paint without damaging the surface of the tank.
If you let an animal at it, who is used to blasting car chassis or wire wheels, you are liable to end up with apile of scrap.
The guy I have used for over 10 years now is Foremoast Coatings, they are just north of East Grinstead, 01342-833455. They are really good, they have just done the chassis work on Classic Bike magazines project bike.
