I think my Uncle would love to chat to you two blokes, he does all his own homeloading etc. I never really got into it.

Competition shooting in the Army was as close as I got. I was only ever good with the L1A1 SLR 7.62 rifle. I came second in my battalion. I didn't really get on with the F88 Austeyr 5.56 - felt too plastic'y' and lightweight.

At least with the SLR there was more carnage

nick--- your SLR probably wasnt straightened out mate "they're all like that sir"-- with a bit of fettling and a good barrel and a bit better ammo than the MOD can supply is easily capable of 'sniper accuracy'-- only ever used one when in the TA shooting fig 8's at 600m

L1A1 SLR, a proper gun. Like my training corporal used to say, you get shot with one of those and you stay shot.

He also used to say that the only guns you find are on ships. Sorry Wingnut.

Air rifle - 1/4'' group at 55 yards? That's pretty impressive shooting!

I only shoot target at 25 yards with a 30 year old Finnish Lion .22 rimfire ( No scope ) Current average in comp is 97.6

Keep saying I will go to Altcar and have a go with full bore but never seem to get round to it.
( Too mean to pay for bullets )

But if anyone has an Accuracy International going cheap I could be tempted!

Looks like we could set up a shooting section within the club
