Is there any chance you can hook it up to a diagnostics system and check the switches?

On a recent Hypermotard rebuild we couldn't get it to start at all - the starter button was dead. We checked through everything and couldn't figure it out so in the end we hooked it up to the JPDiag (free download) diagnostics and saw that the kill switch was engaged regardless of the position! Some rapid flicking of the kill switch saw it start to change and we then got it running.

I'll certainly see if that's a possibility.

Cheers for that.

quick update - The fault turned out to be one of the two relays under the seat. I borrowed some of my friends to fault find with.

Glad you got it sorted!

But I've said it before and I'll say it again - relays should be an item that gets replaced during the major service as they often fail like this. It's really odd that Ducati don't tell their service centres to do this and make a few extra s at the same time!
