does anyonr know if a 996s power comander will fit on to a 916?
is it just a matter of changing the data/powercurves etc?

I would think it would be the plugs not sure if the 916 & 996 share the same plugs, but you could always hard wire it.

Yes, they are interchangeable. I've had the same unit on my 97 748 and 2001 996 with no issues. As you say, you just need to reload the database with the appropriate table, or better still set the unit up on a dyno.

As said above it should work fine, I used the same 748 PC3 when I fitted my 916 engine. You will need to budget for a custom map as there are no default 916 maps available for some reason.

Yes you can copy from another 916, but for the sake a few quid why compromise? If you copy the map, there's always the nagging thought that the other bike may have had a different chip in the ECU, different air filter, different pipes etc.
