748s 2002 models.... hmmmm confusion.

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...e_sell0001.jpg

this is the one for sale in MArket place....

The attached pic is of the Wifes bike....

The confusion is that hers seems 'gloss' and this one seems 'matt'

We ordered a mirror and it's turned up and is spot on.. but it's Matt....

Were both models of bike made ? Or has hers been sprayed/lacquered ?

Weeksy,

I think they were all matt?

Could yours have been cut and polished?

I've always liked the grey/red bikes, like my Senna.

Nice bike anyway!

pretty certain they were all matt tbh as I preferred the colours to the yellow/red but wanted an R so couldn't have grey.

Oooooooh interesting... hmmmmm

It's not a huge issue as the ferry company will be paying if we have to re-spray this one....

All the fairings etc look standard and are 'grey' on the underside... and it's not on any lists as damaged... hmmmmm

Yep, they were all matt from new. Yours has been buffed/polished by the look of it. You'll need to do the same to the new mirror.

It could have been laquered to protect it from stone chipping. The matt finish is prone to it!

Shame I love the matt look mine had, then it was hard to look after i still used polish to protect it but couldnt really go mad or shine it obviously. Then would also get white streaks all over it to when left in sun sometimes.

Still i think it was an awesome more rare colour im glad i got to own one of the last 748s's from new for 18 months or so.
