OK, my 749 was being a bitch this morning. I've cured it now, but, can you work out what was wrong.
Yesterday I had the side fairings off, fixed the contact on the left fairing panel for the alarm. Played around with the neutral switch connector on the back of the engine as it was loose. Had the tank and seat unit off. Set my mirrors up. Set my rear sets up. Fitted an ally pressure plate. All body work back on and basically gave the bike a good all over clean and polish ... no water used.
This morning I start the bike, ride it up the drive and leave it out front ... all OK. Turn the engine off and go to fetch my jacket and lid. Start the bike up and it ticks over nicely.
Get on the bike, flick the stand up, blip the engine and it dies
now will not start for anything.
Get off, leave it for 2 mins and it starts first touch. Get back on, flick the stand up, blip the throttle and the bike just dies
Get off, leave it 2 mins and it starts. Get back on and hold the throttle at 3,000rpm, pull the clutch in and it dies
This carries on for about another 3 or 4 attempts, various combinations of clutch in, stand up, in gear and out of gear. No matter what I do the bike will start and tick over OK, but, dies as soon as I want to pull away.
Can you guess what it was
