Post Ducati Desmo Class 1c Championship

DUCATI DESMO CLASS 1C CHAMPIONSHIP

Ducati Desmo Class 1C is a new race series run with the Hottrax Supercup and is essentially for 10 year old bikes of large capacity such as the 916 or 888 etc. Organised by the Ducati Sporting Club and run by Hottrax, it has it's own regulations.

Provisional detail are:
  • The motorcycle must be based on either a water cooled Ducati twin cylinder motorcycle with 4 valves per cylinder produced between 1988 and March 2002 or an air-cooled 2 valve Ducati twin cylinder produced between 1992 and March 2005, displacing no more than 997cc.
  • The machines used are allowed limited modifications. Most modifications are only allowed for safety reasons or to allow older generations of the Desmo family of motorcycles to remain competitive with the newer machines.
For the avoidance of doubt the following production machines will be entitled to enter the series:
  • 4 Valve 748: - Any model with the exception of the 748RS
  • 851: - Any production model
  • 888: - Any production model
  • 916: - Any model with the exception of 916 Racing and SPS
  • 996: - Any model with the exception of SP, SPS, R & RS
  • 2 Valve 748cc & 904cc single spark engine SS & Monster, including both carburettor and injection models.
  • 803cc single spark SS & Monster manufactured prior to March 2008.
  • 992cc twin spark engine SS, Monster & Multistrada manufactured prior to March 2005
Riders must be members of the Ducati Sporting Club to enter.

Should make it power to weight & do away with all the other rules! much easyer to control more bikes around to fit the class.

It would be a far more atractive class to people that like to customise there bikes, also there are a lot of Ducati's out there that have unknown engine specs so to ban sps's & such is ********.

And my 2002 900SSie track bike project is still for sale.
In fact it's still in storage.
90% complete.
Loads of spares, with a V5.

Will get it out of storage soon and put up some photos.

A few of you have seen it/him/her ......

Interesting indeed, once full details released I wil decide on this or DD class B. Info would be good on the following.......

Wheel spec
Swing arm spec
Yokes spec

What are limited mods? I have a feeling I would be excluded for flowed heads, big valves, overbore, hybrid injection system, mag wheels..............

A good series anyway.

As far as I know...

1. there will be a hp limit
2. tyres are free at this stage, so you can run slicks if you desire

If you want to get a copy of the rules or any more info, get in touch with Kev via desmodue@ducatisportingclub.com to register your interest.

Paul,

Yes you race on slicks and wets and can have warmers!
