Just dropping one off the front seems a place most start with, then its messing with the occasional rear tooth

The 749 is hugely over geared my road bike runs a 13 on the front and I can't remember the numbers for the rear but I put 3 on the rear from std.

Occasionally I hit the rev limiter in top speedo reading around 153...ish. So on a circuit I think my setup would suit you just fine.

Remember Portimao has a very fast last corner onto a reasonable length start/finish straight, will see reasonable top speed if you're hard on it out of that beautiful final curve.
IMO Portimao is one of the most enjoyable circuits to ride have fun

If it has 14 on the front I would guess its already a tooth smaller than standard

No 14 is std on the 749, that's why mine has a 13.

I'll have to remember that as I have a new 15T front sprocket in a packet marked 749 R, which I thought was for all 749s including the R, but will fit my 998 which is why I bought it
