Actually, I don't know why my message cloned itself. I guess I'll have to be less insistent when pressing the post reply button

I know who did own it before, it was on sale in Alvins in Edinburgh. The sales guy there called Pete used to own it at one point. Thats his desk in the background.

Why do you ask?

Think it looks good. Not a huge fan on the monster mob graphics.
Quite like the Black number boards as well. Little different.

I may be doing getting black number boards on mine as part of a spray job next year.

Cause Iam interested in purchasing a twin. With a budget of up to £8k, I have considered everything. The 996, 998, 749, 999. I was so anti 749 & 999 to begin with, but Iam starting to turn to the dark side. The 749, 999 look has started grow on me. Yeah, I have listened, and read the pros&cons of old and new, and also taken on board all the advice, (mostly from owners, mostly conflicting), but its hard enough to get a test ride on any of the said bikes, with 9 points on board, its virtually impossible, so anything I buy is gonna be a gamble. I may hate it (only ever ridden CBR600, R6, R1 & SP1 (loved).

I stumbled across the 996s Monster Mob one and it certainly does it for me. I think it looks the dogs in these colours. The asking price is £5499, which seems about right, with a bit knocked off, it’s a contender.

Moto-Rapido also have a 2005 749S, with a full termi 57mm system, that I really fancy, looks mint. Asking price is £8399. Yeah it is £3k more than the 996s, but if it falls within my budget I don’t care, I just want to enjoy what ever I buy.

One thing for sure, I keep being drawn to the 749, but not the 999? Prob because the R1 is good for that. The 749 just seems to scream ‘fun, fun, fun’ (even if I did slate it after my brief test ride)…..

Anyway, what is the worst thing that could happen? I buy the 749, I decide I don’t like, I sell it next month and lose 50%

What the heck, it’s only money…
