Don't see much point in a race, can see a million negatives for it and very few positives.

I'm with Weeksy on that mate ... but as a "bike only trackday" mainly filled with people we know you could be on to a right winner, I think the "race" bit will scare more people off than it attracts in my opinion ...

Mate, this is one trip i'm deffo in for

My earlier "POST"

[quote=madmav]Loz, I'll go with the flow on this... The fact is I thought it might turn out a bit like a track day split into 4 sessions 25bikes on track at any one time would give you plenty of room and may even help the slower riders enjoy it!

I think this would be a better way! (trackday)

So who's up 4 a Mega mega meet at the ring?

Mav, even if you put 100 bikes on the nordschleife in one go , with an open pit lane the place would be fairly empty most of the day. it is a tiring track to ride constantly all day. So probably only find 50 bikes on the track at once.
Just my thoughts mind.

Mav, what a great idea!!

If you did get the other Ducati clubs (Germany/Holland etc) involved as previously mentioned it could be a new beginning of a huge event!

We all missed WDW this year due to its cancellation, so if this took off backed also by Ducati itself, it could easily be a fantastic event for every 2 years!

Good luck, and provisionally stick us down for at least 2 bikes and 2 or 3 riders

I am up for this. Not interested in the race idea as I cant see that happening. But as an open pit lane track day I think it would be very special indeed. Mav if you can give some idea of likely costs etc I think you would be onto a winner. Would it be Ducati only? Only asking as I could probably get a few people to come but not on Ducatis.

Just out of interest, when was the last time racing of any sort took place there?

will we ever know Officially

To put this in context. In 1974 the motorcycle racers, who were still racing the TT mountain circuit, boycotted the Nordschleife because it was too dangerous and the car drivers started making unhappy noises. In 1976 Niki Lauda was seriously injured and the end came shortly after that.
