749s Tyre Selection
It's that time of year again, I need some new rubber.

Not quite sure what to go for and hope you guys can help?

I've currently got Michelin Pilot Sports on, I've found these to be fine, though they're now superseded.

Calling round the tyre shops, each person has recommended something different :-( the favourite being the Dunlop Roadsmart.

I'm a fast road rider and the bike never goes on track.

Thanks in advance.

I'm just about to try Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier 2 - previously I was a big fan of the D208 by Dunlop. Fast Road and track, not much tread for the wet though. I thought Roadsmarts are a touring style with a longer wear cycle but less grip. I could be wrong ...

As me in a month how I get on with the Qualifier 2

Edit: Forgot to say I have a 999S, not a 749

As Loz says the Roadsmart is more sports-touring than fast-road, for which the Sportsmart would be the obvious. Very well reviewed, currently Bike magazine's top-rated tyre etc.

The Sportsmart is a completely different tire to the Roadsmart, the Sportsmart is the one to have, very sticky, top reviews, quite a lot more expensive too.
