oh i dont know, im sure i could get spat off much quicker on a 230 bhp bike!

Noooo.... don't say that.
It's obvious that a 130 hp or 230 hp is the same ****.
That's why i just don't get why people buy a 999 intead of a 749 for instance...........

Ducsoon

I would like to congratulate you on hitting 85 posts in one month without actually buying a Ducati or joining the club !

Well done (no, really)

Oh....your question - I'm with Jools, doesn't matter too much what the power is, it's plenty.

Hope you get your bike (duc) soon !

Hey, we all know you have a ducati already (man, you must think you're a god for that ), so there no need to post about me don't having one everytime i post here.

Don't worry, I'll keep managing with my 05 MV Agusta and my 04 R1 until i feel like i want to get my Duc, if and when i get it.
Is that a problem to you?

Ducati are indeed quoting crank BHP for 2005. As mentioned, this bring them in line with the "big 4".

The magazine articles are for intents and purposes "comparisons". They can't be judged as anything else really.
Every dyno will read slightly different. Every operator has different ways of testing. Even different weather conditions can affect the readings.
There are also different standards by which to measure power. Switching between these can lose/gain 8% or so.
Without the articles stating which standard they are measuring to, whether the readings are corrected for weather conditions and whether they are measuring crank/sprocket/wheel BHP, then all they'll ever be will be a guide to the differences between the test machines on that day.
