Another class for the DD boys to play in

BASED ON THE ACU FORMULA 400 REGULATIONS THIS NEW CLASS TO HOTTRAX MOTORSPORT WILL PROVE TO BE A WINNER

What is it all about? (2013)

The Hottrax Motorsport Formula 400 Leightweight Championships are a series of sprint races with grid starts. The machines are based on recent or current production motorcycles and available to the public through the normal commercial channels of the constructor/manufacturer
The series is designed to allow riders to compete on 2 stroke and 4 stroke motorcycles
A Formula 400 class fills a nice gap within our Modern Classic series

What do you get?

You get 8 rounds over 1 and 2 days at some of the best circuits in the UK
You get long distance racing and 3 races per weekend together with timed practice and warm ups
Trophies for top 3 are given at each event and at the end of the year subject to entry levels.
Any treaded or wet tyres may be used
What does it cost?

Club membership is £30 online for the year
Optional Premium Membership is £130 per year and you get £15 of each test day with Hottrax
Race entries are all around £225 per round

why are the two cylinders limited to 65 horses? .. some of those 400's are knocking out 85 .. we sometimes got lumped in with the f400 on minitwins .. and they where about 2 seconds a lap quicker ..

I am hoping to get out in this, although will be well short of 78 bhp (2 stroke) .Hoping to do a couple of rounds, will be good to see everyone.

Mark

Mmm I remember the all comers races with New Era, 125 two strokes left us for dead. Just imagine a 250/350, not a hope in hell of being toward the front.

Yep. I remember at Snett following Mark Lister who came second to a 15 year old girl on a 125

Can't see any point in entering that class at all on a DD bike.
Another example of this is the Hottrax Megabike, Superbike, Supersport classes this year. Which if it's like last year due to low entries will mean all three on the same grid again.

Maybe it's lack of understanding on my part but It doesn't make sense to me trying to fill all those catagories. This is the reason iv'e decided to try ThundersoprtGB out this year. One class for billy basic golden era superbikes and busy grids last year.

Because when Hottrax offered a Minitwin Class in 2011 they had one entry for the first round at Brands So they aren't entertaing running MT bikes.

I pursuaded them to let the DD bikes on the same grid as the F400s and the easy way to keep the twins to the DD bike is to stick with our bhp limit.
Including the Twins is about offering another class for DD riders to enter, not about getting MTs out on the grid.

Yes some 400s with every tricked up bit on them may be above 80 bhp but a ZXR400 with a Ram airbox conversion, cams and full system all setup with a jet kit is about 68bhp, and for those of us that entered their DD bikes in the 400 allcomers with New Era often had some fun playing with some of the 400s but the main thing is the extra tracktime that was available.

DD could very easily have been excluded from this class, now we have an option
