Smile 749 race plastics/fibreglass

hello, long time no speak y'all!

Just a quickie re track plastics, hving completed a track day at Mallory (11.08.06) i can see this becoming an expensive hobby. Ideally i woud like a track bike aswell as my 749 however funds suggest otherwise.

I have seen track plastics on ebay, and i would feel a bit more relaxed on track having these on as opposed to the original panels.

So my question is anyone, bought ay of e-bay before? if so what are your experiences, re quality/fitting/ etc etc ..

Cheers fellow ducati fans!!

Forza Capirossi!

Get ARD stuff from Newcastle. Ricambi on eBay is ok - that's about the best I can say about it tbh.

Oops..just checked - they don't do any but, plenty of other peeps do.

My 'spare bodywork' comes from HC racetech (www.hcracetech.co.uk) and fits very well. It looks good too, so I actually use my bike with that on (road or track) and my origianl panels are all in the loft for when I sell the bike.
Dave Cooper from Race Tech is known by DSC and I believe others have used him too.

I bought a 2nd set of bodywork (with a few stone chips + light scratches) off eBay. Price was about the same as good quality race bodywork, but I can leave it on the bike all the time & don't have to swap it over for trackdays (not that I do any nowadays!).

Cheers for the input guys, im still considering my options, i had'nt really seen the after market stuff other than whats on ebay.

The other stuff above though looks really high quality and prob be equally as gutted if a little better off in a binning moment!

Ah decisions decisions

I bought a mono seat from him last month, great service, looks good. Delivered when he said he would, and all the holes line up fine for fitting.

QB carbon do a great red gell coat track day set up. Fit's really well and being impregnated with the colour means no need to paint it and if you scratch it, it still shows red.

Designed for the grey cast arm model, but, will fit the newer black arm with a little work.

Mine on my 996 comes from HC racetech (www.hcracetech.co.uk) good price and quality, Dropped it at cadwell last Tuesday and appart from some scratches there was no other damage.

Just got to get it back to dave now as he does full repairs of all sets he sells at a reasonable price.
