Might you be referring to the bike below Frank
Big thanks to Kev P for risking the 65 mile trip down on the back of my S2R and riding the Monster 1000 back for me, Bitterly cold but at least the roads were dry

What year is that? Did they all come with a 23mm wheel spindle?

I can't say I'm a big fan of the Hi level silencers either Frank, they do stop me putting my feet where I want them.
Was out on it today and the front/rear bias is all wrong, I can ride my S2R a lot harder and if the 1000 didn't have a steering damper you could get yourself in serious trouble, but it shouldn't be to hard to dial out, drop it down at the front a bit and lift the back a tad

Its a very early 2004 bike on a 53 plate, rear spindle is the same as most Post 2002 Monsters at 25mm. Arm and wheels are most likely from a Monster S4

Need to take some up to date to pics to see is it shows where I have replace the forks today, took the easy options for now and just fitted a set of Monster S4 forks which are the correct length and therefore 25mm shorter than the forks I removed, Doesn't lean over quite so far on the sidesatnd now.

Also swapped the right hand switch gear for the earlier version with a light switch while I was at it
