54mm or 57mm Exhaust System Help
I've decided to bite the bulllet and replace the Termi asymetrical exhaust system on my 999 with a Termi 2-1-2. There are three sizes available; 50,54 and 57mm.
Has anyone had experience with 54mm and larger exhausts on the 999S, 998S (euro) 998R or 996R?
I am looking to maximize the power under the curve between 6000 and 11000rpm.
(to clarify, I am talking about the area under the curve on a dyno graph).

I have fitted a full 57mm Termi system to my 999s, and quite honestly I don't feel that the power increase is worth the
£ 1500 I spent, Termi end can would have been more cost effective giving same sound.

However I purchased the full system because it makes the bike future proof for any other engine mods I wish to do in the future i.e. Cams, gas flowing etc.

So my advice to you is if you are going to tweek the motor in the future buy a system if you just want sound buy an end can.

I have power figures from a dyno run if you want them, however I need to fax the graph to you if you want.

Wow,looks like the entire Casoli catalogue on there!

Nice bike.

BTW,My 999bip has got the Termi box and front pipe fitted. It was on it when I bought the bike,so I dont know what it was like before. Its still pretty quiet tho, certainly not as noisy as my old 998 with ti Termi's.

steve999 my fax no is +6136995793 (I am in Australia) I have a dyno graph for the 54mm system already along with my asymetrical system.
My bike is now producing 143hp at the rear wheels, I only have the 139hp graph here, I only picked up the bike at lunch time today, so will upload the new graphs when I have time.

I am quite disappointed, my Dyno graph shows a maximum power figure of 129bhp at the wheel (all be it with a tight engine after only 900 miles)

I can't see that it will achieve the figures on yours when the engine is loose.

Have your cams checked and set properly. A lot of bikes are WAY out from the factory. Also get a PC fitted and setup by someone with the tuning link software an a lot of experience. As you can see, my bike was originally putting out 132hp at the rear wheel before the PC was fitted.
Is it my imagination or was your bike only run up to 10500rpm?

Is the collector pipe the same diameter as the primary pipes or larger?

It is all getting a little confusing for me.

i thought a PC was only to be fitted as an aftermarket unit if a Manufacturers ECU wasn't available, however in my case the ECU came with the exhaust system.

I understand that the PC is adjustable to give several power curves however I thought that to increase power at one point in the curve you would loose it elsewhere.

I am right in assuming that PC means Power Comander ?

Does anybody know of a Ducati specialist in North of England who may be able to assist in setting up of the bike to it's optimum performance figures ?
