this is the Aussies 5th title, I thought he has said that he does not want a World ride, he is happy raking it in where he knows he can win, - bit like Reynolds over here perhaps?

That is now the second big domestic title for the GSXR1000 this year which is why Honda will be putting in serious effort next year, - and Ducati will be after that AMA title that they have never won, - talk of Laconni, Lanzi, Bayliss (even) or BBoz riding over there on a Duc. Me thinks they need to switch to Dunlops first.

A shame really, I wish he wasn't in that comfort zone. I think he was bitten when he was in GP's with Cagiva.

I think, what Mat has said is that he is not interested in WSB as he sees it as a step down though he would consider a GP ride, but only one of the better rides - he doesn't want to get into the Cagiva situation again.

As for JR, he's done the World scene and come back to GB, in a similar way to what Haslam and Mackenzie did. Good rider that JR is, he was never going to be World champion.

thats the tough choice I guess, be a big fish in small pond, or a minow with the wrong passport in the atlantic ocean! The likes of JR and Mladin (and Duhamel) deseve a lot of respect for seeing an opportunity and grabbing it.
