DesmoDue Bike?

It's a Ducati (ish), it's a 600cc (sort of) and it's a V engine (just not a twin!).

Maybe the rules could be bent slightly....?

500cc would leave room for a big bore kit. I don't know how it would handle on control tyres though!

Mind you it would probably hole it's pistons before the first corner since the rules state "standard unleaded fuel'-even my TZ requires Avgas........
And I do like the bit where they describe it as a "Cagiva V593 500cc V4 Grand Prix Race Bike MotoGP Ducati "-what the feck has a GP Cagiva got to do with Ducati????? You don't think they are trying to get some kudos by association do you??

I reckon I could lap faster on my bandit than that thing.

In the hands of anyone with a fraction of riding talent it might be another matter though!

Cagiva owned Ducati from 1985 until TPG bought out out 51% in 1996 - hence both the Cagiva Mito using the same shadow as the 916 and also Foggy entering the British GP in 1993 on the V593.

Don't forget that a lot of work on the original 916 was done at the Cagiva Research Centre, hence the "CRC" initials on airtubes of the very early 916 bikes.
