2002 998bp top speed?

what would you expect to get from a 2002 998bp? had mine flatout and only got 145mph (on a private road ofcourse )

i got more out of my 748 so i'm begining to think all is not right with it! althought it feels ok just lack of topend. it's totally standard as far as i know! just thinking i haven't checked the gearing yet, what is standard gearing for it?

cheers,
joe

2003 Bip

Can't remember what size the std rear sprocket is but I had an indicated 157 with a 15 front and 154 with a 14 front sprocket, I'd expect someone with a bit lower "drag coefficient" (ahem!) to get more
Send a U2U to Skidlids, he'll know what the standard gearing is

Get a 14tooth front sprocket on it , it takes ages to get anywere near top speed on std gearing ,the smaller sprocket takes a few mph off but it gets there before runing outa road (private)

I will check my gearing but I know mine gets to 150mph very rapidly, not on a private road but they allow these sort of speeds in the IOM, probably go faster than that if held flat for the mountain mile with no traffic.
Mainly standard in the engine department except for full 50mm exhaust, got a PC111 USB but haven't fitted it yet as bike is laid up for the winter.

Would have thought you'd see 155mph eventually. Most have had the 15 tooth front sprocket swapped for the 14 tooth sprocket which will effect top speed. Other thing is that your comparing it to your 748 top speed, who says the speedo was accurate on the 748

How fast does it go around corners? You managed to do a corner at 150mph yet?
