At a dealer in Lincoln

748R

2002 51 Reg Ducati 748 R 748 cc,
11,000 miles, Red. A chance to get your hands on one of the most iconic Ducati's made the Stunning 748R. This one was supplied by ourselves and has a comprehensive service portfolio again all done by ourselves, and has the benefit of a Datatool Alarm (Cat 1) Datatag, D. £7,250.

I normally go by the rule that a dealer is £1k over private price due to warranty/px etc, but at the end of the day it's down to what you want to pay and if it's the bike for you

Darren

5.5K tops then without the extras.... but I would ask why he hasn't got the cans etc? and why were the wheels repainted?

Maybe I am being over cautious here but a 748R is a rare bike and most people, myself included would keep everything that came with it

I would not trust it without the cans/chip, etc ....... & the wheel business sounds rather odd!

Ducati Leeds have a very nice 02 R. £7750. R prices seem to be on the up a bit. I think it's probably a bit on the pricey side but, it's in excellent condition.

As has been said - R's are rare and I can't conceivably imagine why anyone wouldn't keep all the gear with it.

For the bike in question I wouldn't buy it without all the gear - a set of 50mm pipes is not cheap. It's a bit like buying an SP which was made from a converted Bip.

Wheels is a looks thing, so I guess that's just choice. Bit mad though IMHO.

The cans/stand/cover missing might indicate an owner who needed the cash from them. Did they service the bike on the cheap too? Makes you think...

With an R, I wouldn't pay top money unless it's perfect and has all the goodies.

Might be personal but you wouldn't say paint 996R panels yellow for example and devalue a rare bike, same with the wheels IMO.

It sounds to me like it's had a bang, wrecked the cans and possibly bent the wheels...

I've just paid £6500 for an 03 plate 748R with 3200 miles in a private sale.

I think I paid strong money for the bike but it is just pristine and the last owner was fanatical about the bike.

I'd much rather pay a wee bit more for the right bike rather than buy a cheap bike which isn't 100%.
