*shocker* another 916 electrical feature

Well here's one that just wont seem to go away.
Revcounter and temp guage seem to go a bit mad from time to time, it can be fine for miles, then for no reason the rev counter spins upto 4k and then gets very lazy only showing 5k max while the engine is doing more like 6-7. also at the same time the temp guage reads a bit high and climbs happily to 100 (3/4) before coming back to a more normal 85 when the revcounter comes back to life.
I know the new gene and rectifier are fine and its doing its job ok, i can only think of a bad earth somewhere
Anyone seen anything like this before ?

Mate, you know what, i have just been working on the CBR fitting ventura luggage to it, and i wished i was working on the duke. its such a doddle doing things like that to the ducati, on the honda although new, its like a cheap watch, remove a panel and watch allsorts of stuff fly off and bounce round the garage, only to spend about 2 hours trying to work out how the hell that little plastic thing fits in there cos it wont line up so easy. Dont get me wrong, i am glad i got the 600rr but it aint a duke - end of !!
saying that i bet it wont set itself alight either. . . .
