I do like to pull the odd wheelie but now I have the 999 I'm wondering if I should, I remember horror stories of the 916 series dumping oil in the airbox or starving the engine of oil on long wheelies.
So the question is, is this still a problem on the 999's ?

The Testastretta engines have a deeper sump than the earlier bikes so are much more wheelie friendly

I thought only the S and R model had deep sumps

it is , I think, I know the 999 up to 05 were not deep sump,
so 999S and 999R yes plain 999 if you can say that, NO wheels.
you might get oil starvation and as you wont be waching the oil pressure not good.

Sort answer is yes,it still is a problem.I have a Fast Bikes video of someone wheelieing a 996 down a French motorway,...you can see the oil light blinking on and off!
BTW,its only the 999S/R and 749R that get the deep sump motor.
