First post and a complete newbie when it comes to Duc's... I just got myself a 2004 749s and I am stuck at the first techie hurdle...
After adjusting the chain what is the recomended torque setting of the rear axle bolt?? I tried referring to the manual but it says that chain adjustment should only be performed by an authorised Ducati dealer (!) Not sure if they are protecting themselves regarding the liability issues in the US but isn't that a wee bit overkill?
Relative newbie to DSC myself altho have watched with intrest for a while.
I also have a 749s and i too made the same error.......adjust the chain THEN look for the torque setting i needed! :P Ah well, you find some great advice and tips on this furom, theres some very knowledgeable people out there.
Totally missed the other thread, but it did go on a bit.....
Soloman : No problem about the Stella as I live in the town where they invented it But I aint no Belwegian, originally from Sarf London so gonna try and make it for the Brands Hatch round of WSB!!
Dont forget to check the chain again after tightening the nut.........it does have a habit of making it tighter......and also find the tightest bit of the chain first as thats where youll do your measurement.
