renthal grip

Has anybody fitted Renthal soft compond grips to there bike?
I have just brought some, and noticed that on the throttle side there is a taper on the throttle sleeve, so the grip won,t go up flush to the inside.
Also what's the nack to putting them on.

Cheers

Rich

Yep..........they all do that sir

It's down to the throttle tube ducati use.
It's noot going to harm anything, just looks a bit unsightly.

As for fitting them, you can of course get Renthal Grip glue but you can use several things to fit them.
What you want is something that will lube the grip enough to slide on but then set to hold it in place.
I use carpet adhesive (aerosol), or just plain old bostick. Hair laquer is another one!

Rich,
you can cut the throttle tube back if you don't intend using ducati stock grips anymore. You can't remove it completey but it does conceal it better.

I've always used hairspray to get my grips on - spray loads on the inside, the excess gets squeezed out and the rest evaporates pretty quickly (just make sure that they are straight before it dries or you'll get twisted grip syndrome).

If (like me) you have no hair, prepare yourself for odd looks down at Boots when you ask for the hairspray section...

cheers, Chi
