On the subject of clubs I have very little experience. I've only attended race meeting with two clubs: NEMCRC and Derby Phoenix. I must say, I am impressed with DP. The management seems to bend over backwards to accomodate members and are very easy going. The paddock is full of decidedly unassuming folk. It's a good astmosphere all around.

It gets my recommendation, but as I said, my experience is very limited. I really like their old Superbike formula, the 750/twins class. A full grid, too.

I can see that longer races are going to help prevent the do or die riding you might get in a 6 lapper or less.

Surely longer races mean less time goes into forming up, warm up laps etc, fewer first corner dust ups, etc more time in actual racing.

Anyone make the case for shorter races??

Ray

I dunno...............Kev seemed quite pleased when I helped by squeezing the front brake lever to make sure the front wheel was centralised before tightening up.

How was I to know he hadn't put the calipers back on the mounts

[i]around the left approaching the complex including Dr. Desmo himself (I was probably giving away 40bhp to him).
spoke to Steve today...apparently learning the track on the first race but equally has hacked off, never had such a bad day! He was off to Mallory for some practice time and was so peed off he was really NOT wanting to go!

Glad I didn't bother getting a day licence with NG to do Thruxton......
Time is always the biggest problem there as all the later races got shortened at the BSB round, which is the biggest event they have there.
I'm racing at Mallory on 1 Aug with New Era (while everyone else goes to Brands WSBK) and noticed that they have 10 lap races compared to the 8 lap ones earlier in the season....
Mind you, I did only manage 1 1/2 of the 8 then, so its all a bit irrelevant!!

New Era usually runs 8 lap races, but they do 10 lappers at Mallory since it is so short. We had a few stoppages at Snetterton last weekend but the thing that caused the last 3 Saturday races to be run first thing Sunday was the monsoon on Saturday PM-we must have lost 2 hours due to flood conditions.
