Thanks for that, the write up on the mobil site for the V Twin 20-50 does sound good though. Here in France it seems that Ipone full power 10w50 is the premier oil of choice for most bike shops so I may have to go with that.

I was using a fully synthetic shell, but got fed up with seeing the oil light taking about 4 seconds to go out after starting, then again when cornering, and if the front wheel lifts more than an inch for a few seconds i see it flicker again.
since using a semi its far more settled.

although mine is an old 1995 916 with 20,000 miles under its belt (no not belts)

Motul 300v competition 15/50 fully synthetic for me too Just done a oil change and used one of them new K&N oil filters with a 17mm bolt on the base... Its even got a hole in the bolt for the lockwire... Ace product
