thanks forthe info - i think i'll keep them as the one thing i don't like about the 748 is its riding position viz a viz the ultra low bars. however, i think i'll put the bike into a garage to do the work as i'm the world middleweight bolt rounderoffer and thread stripping champion. i don't mind bodging the bandit but i don't want to defile the 748 with my appalling spanner work!

they are not cheap but there is a thread on the 749/999 where they are organising a bulk purchase, perhaps you can get in on that.

Trust me they make all the difference

honestly, you don't know how cack handed i am. example - i recently tried to shorten my hi level pipe (bought for the bandit). in order to get the end of the can lined up correctly i kept cutting more and more off the link pipe.......until i realised that the end which would slip on the can was oval. ooooops - i'd cut as far back as the swaged (flattened) part of the link pipe. oh dear. i had to hammer the end can on, seal it with loads of fire gum and hope for the best. i now have a slip on can which will never, ever slip off......i also hacked some of the other end of the pipe off, but that's another story.

messrs bodgitt & leggitt ltd.

btw: are the ducati performance risers much different to the cyclecat? i paid £95 for DP items.
