Thanks Paul, talk to you about that mate

Sorry didnt ring AK last night, didnt get home in time

Suggestion from UKMOC site is it could be starter relay contacts touching cylinder head..............?
It HAS to be something like that surely, from when I took off the airbox and replaced it after doing the carbs

No mate, that was the first thing I wriggled out of the way, and its currently hanging by the side of the bike so we dont jump when the starter suddenly turns the engine over

I'll be round there again tonight with my magic multimeter.

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Monica's on the run again thanks to Phil H and his little fluke meter and a screwdriver
Turns out it was a dodgy diode actually INSIDE the ignition circuit relay that was shorting out directly to ground Phil broke it off "cos you dont need it anyway" and it works just fine Even with the revised fuelling with the new jets I fitted to the carbs, it runs smoothly and picks up just great Wahey.

Oh! Anyone got a spare slot for a lift to Cadders
