Is it ADSL / Broadband through the phone?

You can't go far wrong with a Linksys as they're the consumer arm of Cisco Systems.

Get something like this:
http://www.ebuyer.co.uk/UK/product/94178

will give you wireless internet access for plenty of devices.

You can then buy either wireless cards or adapters as necessary for each machine (your laptop may already have one built in) and use these to connect to the box. eg:

http://www.ebuyer.co.uk/UK/product/94366 for laptops or

http://www.ebuyer.co.uk/UK/product/94368 for desktops

That way you don't have to wire your house for networking.
