wont start again

youguys helped me start my bike last time which was ace
So as it seems you are the jedi mechanic's can you help me now please.
I came back to my bike today after riding it all day saturday and it wont start,so im in a hurry and turn ignition on and start to bump it straight away there is some coming out the headlight and the battery side fairing i thing ,i stop pushing it and try to get the side fairing off incase something was on fire.
I couldnt find no trace of anything ?
Tonight i go back out and conect battery battery back up and turn key/ign lights come on fuel pump works but there is no turn over at all like the problem stil lies with the starter/soliend?
sorry to bother you like this but im desperate to find the problem?cheers jason

Sounds like it could be that solenoid's come loose again, check it again. It's worth cleaning the contacts and putting a cable tie around it to hold the plug tight on.

If there was smoke, check the wiring around the solenoid / relay and around the regulator area for signs of overheating etc. If this get's really hot, it may give off a light smoke before it actually burns.

You may have a poor / dirty connection at the relay which is causing massive resistance and hence the wiring heats up and smokes (see that straw, I'm clutching it)

mine does it all the time mate,haha almost like a security device;i know its there n i just wiggle the lead by the solonoid,hey presto fires up

Could be a dodgy starter switch? Mine started to do that in Italy and you can tell by running a wire from one of the wires coming out of solenoid (you'll have to strip a small section bare) to the positive terminal of the battery. Just touch the terminal and if it turns over the switch is your problem. If you short the terminals across the solenoid and get sparks then that's all OK and do check it's not a problem with the immobiliser. Hope that helps.
