I have a 999r and obviously have fitted the "race" exhaust supplied. However, it only has small outlets as std, and quite frankly looks stupid with the carbon shroud.
So, ive modified the outlets to the same size as the wsb jobbie!

To do this i cut across the top of the silencer about 3" back from the tail grinding it square so i could replce the part afterwards.

The silencing inside consists of what looks like fibreglass inside plastic bags, i kid u not.

If you were to do this mod im sure you could remove the plastic bags or an amount to make it louder!

Alternatively i would get the proper thing, there is one on ebay at the moment!

Thanks ,I can maila my friend but we are in Sweden so I dont know if he will buy from Ebay.. They cost about a little over £1000.00 for the Carbon Termis over here for the 999 but thanks for your help.
How did you join the 2 pieces together after you cut it ?
Does it have the rivits at the end like our 916 ´s where you can just drill them out and pull the ends off ?
So hows life with the 999 R ? I am just jealous! There is only ONE 999 R in Sweden ! Like everything else in this B!#""dy country its too expensive with insurance.

no they aren't riveted they are welded and I presume if you cut it open you would have to reweld it and wouldnt have to be that tidy because the exhaust guard will cover it. a bit of a botch job, they are about the same price here depending what system you go for.

I have to say using proper stainless cutting discs meant there was only a 2mm gap, and my mates welding is spot on. In fact, it now looks as good as before if not better.

Ill do some piccies,

ps, those that know me will confirm i dont do botch jobs!!!!
