749R fairing infill

Any ideas what would cause this infil to disappear? Looks like it was once bonded to the frame?

Seems I can't get a replacement from Ducati (full nose cone only at 1300++). Anyone seen this?

Not my bike, but one I have looked at recently and this is the main thing putting me off

Yep, unfortunately happened to one of my top fairings too.

There's a carbon piece bonded in there, and it has a little tab that mates with the side fairing. Ham fisted fitting of the fairing results in too much force being applied when the tabs don't line up, causing that piece to snap off!

Even on the new fairing, it feels flimsy, so you have to be real careful when fitting the side panels to make sure the tabs link in.

thanks. Seems a shame to let it put me off, but it's just annoying more than anything

If the infill could be replaced individually, even at ridiculous Ducati prices, the bike would be sat in my garage now, but buying a new nose cone is out of the question

Yeah it is a shame. Its just that someone hasn't been too careful putting the side fairing back on, thats all.

I ended up buying a new front fairing, but I'm going to have the old one repaired with a fibreglass job (I still have the broken piece!).

Does it matter that much?! Get it at the right price, at he end of the day bikes like his deserve to be ridden as well as looked at. Just get it bought and join us for a cross counties blat....you won't care what it looks like then

+1 Bradders.

Buy it, repair it, then ride it. It's a 749R probably one of the best bikes Bologna ever made.
