Here we go again, or not ...

as the case may be. Starting problems raise their beedy heads again...
all the fuses are ok the electrics all work and the fuel pump primes. Then the starter whirrs.. but there's no turn over from the engine no clicky noise from the starter, nutin, nada. Just Whiirr. I'm thinking the starter motors gone. Anyone else have idea's:P

If there's no click, check the starter relay.

No click, it ain't working. It's the round rubbery covered thing with the metal centre to the right of your battery box - for want of a better description!

Cheers, Neil

If the Starter motor is spining then I would suspect the sprag clutch needs replacing.

If you can here the starter turning as skidlids mentioned the sprag clutch is the most likely problem, however if the battery voltage is to low the starter may be spinning too slowly for a worn sprag clutch to engage, try using jump leads from a car to your bike battery and if it then starts try charging or replacing the battery, if not new sprag clutch

Hello,

at a guess I would say its not the starter motor I would go alone with neil748r as your first port of call. Has the bike been sitting, maybe check the charge your battery is putting out. It takes a fair kick to turn a Duc over.

Don't you just love Duc's and there electrics . . .

let the fun commence.

regards
