Carole Nash Rant - MUPPETS !!

Ring for an insurance quote to be greeted by a smarmy t**t explaining to me that the are the market leader so should be the most comeptitive.

"What bike do you have sir ?"

- A Monster S4R

" Ahhh..yes here we are..916cc"

- No..thats the S4..you want the S4R which is 996cc

..pregnant pause

" We dont have that bike listed im afraid..ill put it in as a Monster 1000s"

- No..dont do that as its wrong..just look for S4R..it will be there

" No its definitley not and Norwich Union dont have it listed in there underwriting guide..are you sure thats what its called..?"

MUPPPPETTTTS !!!!!!!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Where do they get these people...think ill be staying with laxtons who have done me proud for 4 years (£358 fully compy for the 888 and S4R aint bad I dont think).

Rant over..

Nat

Had the same thing when I rang them up to change from UJm to the 749s was told the s didn't exist only 749 or R.

Eventually they sorted it and I stuck with them.

Customer Service in other aspects is normally very good, plus the extras like breakdown cover (although you pay for it somewhere) keep things simple.

Never had a problem with Carole Nash. Very happy as they gave me a discresionary no claims bonus to stay with them after cancelling my classic policy which does not accrue no claims.

Compared to my previous insurer, Carole Nash seem very good but, as I've only been with them a few months, I guess it's early days.

They do seem to have a bit of a problem with their bike listing though. They don't have the 999R listed so all their (pre-printed) paperwork comes through with 999 on it. In the end I got so paranoid that I insisted that they put something in writing to me to the effect that they understood it was the 999R they were insuring.

I'm sure they'll still try to wriggle if I'm unfortunate enough to have to make a claim, but that's what insurance companies do, innit?

Always been very happy with Carole Nash cover / rates, but the Solicitors they appointed through their legal aid cover made the 3 stooges look like the height of professionalism. No less than 5 times they sent documentation to the 3rd parties insurer, each time, I chased a response at least 3 times, each time the 3rd party insurer eventually decided they never received the documentation. Surely, the solicitor would have figured out the documentation never arrived when they followed up my progress enquiries? I suppose you can't expect much for the £100 an hour or so they will be charging my legal aid cover.

Anyway, getting to the point, if your legal cover appoints D1ckhead, Deadbeat & Braindead as your solicitor, do you have the right to ask for a known bike-case specialist instead?

You can report your unhapiness to the insurers and ask them to refer you to someone else. You can also request a list of the solicitors that they have on their panel. You can request the solicitor you want to use but they are not obliged to use them as the solicitor firms on their panel pay huge sums of money to the insurers to have cases referred to them. If you put your complaint in writing to your insurer they will investigate it as it a headache they can easily do without.

Insurance Companies

Your posting doesn't surprise me. My company which is Bennets still haven't heard of an ST3. In fact only Ducati Insurance have heard of it!
Perhaps this is because so few are sold.

I had similar problems with Carol Nash when I got my ST4S 4 years ago-they kept insisting it was an ST4.
When I tried to add my 1952 Gilera saturno to the policy they told me there was no such bike-when I insisted there was they asked me to forward all the details, specifications etc that I had so they could quote it. I am now insured with AXA through Footman James who not only had heard of the Saturno but quoted me less for the extra bike added with my other 2 than Carol Nash wanted for just the first 2. Funnily enough I have stayed with them. If your bike is 15 years old or older it's classed as a classic and they are VERY competitive.
