Belly pan decking out?

I have my 999 in pieces at the moment and when I laid out the fairing lowers noticed wear marks on each bottom corner towards the front.

It definately has not been caused by kerbs or the like and the direction of the scuffing suggests that its from contact with the ground when cornering.

I'm no Rossi but at this rate it won't be long before I have two lovely holes.

Anyone else had this happen, did I eat too many pies, or is it a case of writing to Ducati for some replacements (fit for intended purpose etc) ??

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Also am I right in beleiving the R's have different profiled fairing lowers?

I'll post up a photo later to better explain.

Had the same problem gazillions of years ago o my FZR600, and it was basically coz I was carrying pillion a lot and the suspension was too soft...not sure that would be the case with a 999 though ?!!!

Yes I believe the 'R's had a different fairing after hodgson complained about the fairing grounding out, this the changes had to be made to the road bike for homolgation reasons I guess...

Best of luck..
