Brands TrackDay Report
Hi, I went to Brands yesterday and thought maybe you'd like to know that it was apparently pretty slippy.

I say "apparently" because my DD bike thought better of it and I went home after 4 hours of spannering without turning a wheel!

It was wet but there were 8 crashes in the first 5 sessions and more were going down even after a "bin it and you go home" announcement by Focused Events.

Riders were reporting that the circuit was unpredictable so I thought I'd better just pass this on ahead of the test day on the 20th. Hopefully it will be dry for us and by then there should be some rubber down, but please take care at first especially on new tyres.

I was there with my 848 on Jan 27th and it was a similar story. When the Blizzard hit just before lunch I stayed in the garage, and missed a 3 bike pile up at clearways!

There won't be any more rubber by the 20th. The only thing that will help is higher temps and a dry track. If not, be prepared for slippery conditions.

I think it turned into a two-stroke! Nothing too serious, but as fast as I was putting new plugs in it kept fouling them. Petrol everywhere too so probably just a sticky float, but couldn't free it up at the circuit (limited spannering capability!). It's been missing on the front cylinder until it gets hot for some time. At least I can get it sorted in time for Brands.

sounds familiar. Check fuel filter too, they eat these if the tank is rusty, and the pick up thinkgy went on mine (fairly common) which would mena it would drop in and out of 2

you there Sunday?

Yes, I'm at Brands on Sunday - but only to sit the ACU exam! I will have a wander over and find you guys afterwards though. Cheers, Gary.
