Clutch springs - 996 v Monnie ?

I need to strengthen up the clutch in my DD bike as its starting to slip after being installed new at the start of the season.

I've already added an additional plate (to aleviate clutch slip on the race starts) but she's still starting to play up again.

So to try to avoid another set of plates, can anyone tell me if 996 springs are stronger than my 620ie clutch springs?

Or can I just shim out the standard ones to effectively increase the preload (oooh - get me all technical!!! ).

Or will different types of oil (synthetic?) make the slip more likely to happen?

Ta
Tim

Tim I was told that fully synthetic would bugger up friction plates on the cbr.
I've put semi in at the mo.

Tim I would think that over shimming would cause the clutch to drag?
