I had this once. After years of taking off oil filters with the proper tools and with the screwdriver method, I got stuck and one wouldnt shift end of!
I ended up destroying the filter case and was really up pooh creak.
I ended up cutting the old filter away, leaving only the metal outer case, still bolted to the engine cases. I then made up a tool consisting of a flat bit of steel bar with two BIG bolts that went up through the steel bar and into the original holes left at what was left of the top of the filter. (This bit of metal being really thick.)
I then layed the bike on its Side
( fairings off of course) and slotted the two bolts into the holes. I then turned with much brute force and off came what was left of the oil filter.
Lets just say that the last person to put it on had not put so much as a smear of oil on the rubber O ring.
To this day I have never had a filter done up so tight!
