Revving it?

Had my 916BP a week odd, just had the timing belts done, the process looks like a game by MB I played when I was a kid, turning the 'dials' etc.

As I am new, just wanted to find out the 'safe' performance range of the engine; I have never thrapped the nuts off any of my bikes but was interested to hear where other owners rev round to, I am finding plenty of torque and 'go' around 6 to 7K. Does this engine like my Mille, like to wound up?

wind it up M8, just don't hit the limiter too often, and it should all be alright. But for god's sake don't stop at 6k!

I often take mine just above 10k but when i had 50mm Termis complete system the limiter seemed to disappear or does it just further up the Revs? as i 0ften found myself revving the nuts out of it before i changed.
Oh by the way i have 45 mm termis back on her now as got complaints about the noise with 50's, not that there is much difference in noise when they are opened right up.

mine kicks in at 10.5K, power doesnt drop off by more than 1-2 hp

Will hitting the limiter often balls it up?

Its more important that you dont labour the motor esp below 3K. Change theoil, do your valve maint, look after your belts, warm the engine throughlyand then thrash it within an inch of its life they love it.
