Is this the 996 range?

996
996S
996S Hodgon Replica
996SPS
996SPS Fogarty Replica

What the main difference between the S,SPS & the replicas?
Also can someone give me a guide price on a 2000 996 SPS Fogarty Replica, with 4000k on it and FDSH? Does anyone own one?

You've missed out the best one - the 996R Foggy rep I'd recon should be about £10K but not as popular as they once were. Not ridden one so can't comment. You tried the 999 yet?

ar, ok, didn’t realise there was an R though the SPS was like the equivalent. OK, what’s the difference between the SPS & the R? I saw a SPS Foggy Rep at the weekend and it looked trick, it was totally standard and had all the bits on it? What do you get with an R that you don’t get with the SPS Foggy rep?

The 999 test ride is tomorrow, but now I really want to take out the 996, The dealer is doing the 999S for £10k but for the same money I can get a trick 996, and I do prefer the look of the 996. Its all very confusing, I am the world worst decision maker when it comes to everything!

The R has the 998 Testastretta engine, so is a 998 in all but name. It has a full carbon fairing too, which I don't think the SPS has. SPS also has Showa forks, not Ohlins.

The Foggy replica is based on the 996S I think, but has Ohlins forks. The Hodgson rep is also based on the 996S but has standard Showa forks, but came with Termis, the paintjob and a few carbon extras (air tubes/reg holder, swingarm cover).

Personally, I don't rate the Foggy rep. Too overpriced for what it is, unless you're a collector and want to hang onto it. If you're going to ride it, get an S/SPS/R. The S gets my vote for value for money, or the R if you want something 'special'.

Mate if you want the trickest 996 get a 996sps, 996r or a 998r.
You can get caught up in history if you want with a foggy rep, or even further back a 916 sps or a 955 (if you can find one)

is the difference between the SPS and the SPS Foggy just cosmetics? The guys at work are telling me the Foggy Rep is like buying a WRX with decals in it, basically a bit chav...

f you get the genuine foggy rep then it is..genuine.A ltd edition with cover and plaque!

If you get a 996s with the foggy rep sticker kit on it then yes Chav springs to mind.

The 996R is a much better base to start from! Buy the one ive pointed out, clean it up, tlc. Its worth 11000-12000.....well at the moment!
