Rolling Road Eats New tyre

Decided it was about time to get a Custom map done. Anyway the chap calls me last night say bikes done but theres now a big chunk out of your rear tyre, He says i must have ran over some glass (Tough glass i say) and the rolling road has helped it out!!!. Anyway right in the middle of tne tyre is as good as a inch square chunk gone. Cant believe it... Tyres not 2 weeks old. Its a 208 GP BTW

Time to go to the bottom of the garden to sulk and eat worms

At phase one they have just had their R1's dynoed and maps redone and they are pushing out 180 bhp. We just chucked on 190 road tyre and it was fine afterwards!

I think it's worth getting hold of Dunlop mate just incase !

Hmmm smells a bit fishy, to me maybe the bike was to tight on roller or a manufacturing fault for an inch to come away!!

Get on to dunlop i think and get it examined

Mood: R U thinking what I'm thinking?......Oh dear!
Always run my bike on the dyno/RR on a well worn tyre, no point squaring off a new/decent tyre.

Multiple runs to set something up is gonna wear the tyre much like doing a lot of high speed miles on the motorway.

Some operators have disclaimers and a local tyre shop has a notice up saying pretty much the same, "dynos can sh*g yer tyres"

Ray.
